Paul is an experienced IFA and highly knowledgeable Chartered Financial Planner who specialises in dealing with people who:

Paul’s career path is an unusual one. He started in financial services before signing as a professional footballer for Accrington Stanley. He became the club’s record appearance holder and wore the number 10 shirt, which led to the name of the business!

During his playing career, he completed his studies to achieve Chartered status in 2010; the gold standard for financial planning in the UK.

He retired from football in 2011 to focus on his career in financial services. Now, with many years experience as a Financial Planner, he continues to passionately believe in the value of advice.

He is also a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, achieving the qualification in 2013.

Out of the office

Born and bred in Lancashire, Paul now lives in Clitheroe with his wife Fiona and has three children and one granddaughter. His twin daughters, Anna and Helena, are currently studying at the University of Leeds. His son, Alex, has flown the nest after graduating from Manchester University with a degree in Chemistry. Granddaughter, Bella Grace, is a lovely new addition to his family.

Paul enjoys watching Alex turn out for various local football teams, running, playing golf, going to live music events and (very) occasionally lacing up his boots again and taking to the football pitch.

Meet Fiona

Fiona Mullin joined the business as Operations Manager in 2018 after an 18 year career teaching languages in secondary schools in the local area.

Fiona was born in Burnley and lives with Paul in Clitheroe. She will be concentrating on compliance, business processes and marketing. Her organisational skills will keep Ten Financial Planning running smoothly, whilst Paul does what he does best; advising clients and building financial plans.

Fiona enjoys holidays in France, cooking good food, the odd glass of wine and going to gigs with Paul.

Paul is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. He is highly-rated by his clients and was recently named in The Times as one of the most popular financial advice firms in the UK, according to VouchedFor.

Both Paul and Ten Financial Planning are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

As well as appearing on the FCA Register, all financial advisers must also hold a valid Statement of Professional Standing (SPS). This proves they are suitably qualified and keep their knowledge and skills up to date.

Why did you need financial guidance?

Financial advice and planning for the forthcoming retirement of my wife and myself.

How did Paul help you?

Paul did a complete review of our current position and obtained from us a full understanding of our requirements and expectations. He then provided a financial plan which included excellent graphical illustrations, which made it very easy to follow. This gave us the confidence to follow Paul’s advice. The proposed plan is in the process of being fully implemented, as my wife has now retired, and I retire at the end of June. Although this is currently a quiet period for financial growth, we are confident that the financial plan Paul has put in place will be successful. We also have Paul’s ongoing support to make any future changes that may be required due to market fluctuations. What could they have done better?
